Events

When we hear about events – exhibitions, displays, festivals – that are about willows we’ll include them here.  Please send information that can be just cut and pasted as below.

From: Anna Liebmann <hello@annaliebmann.net> at Talamh Housing Co-op in South Lanarkshire.

“I am very much hoping to be in the Scottish Basketmakers Circle’s
exhibition ‘We Are All Basketmakers’ at the Barony Centre [4] in West
Kilbride this Spring. It’s an exhibition showcasing work from all
abilities across the membership to give an idea of what basketry happens
in Scotland today. Even if my work isn’t selected, I highly recommend
a trip to West Kilbride to see it between 14th March and 16th May.

Closer to home, my friend Lise Bech has fabulous curvy baskets in the
Peter Potter Gallery in Haddington as part of the exhibition ‘Danish
Diaspora’ [5], running from 31st Jan until 28th March; and my friend
Liz Balfour is running some interesting basketry courses from her
workshop in Tranent, such as making a mini Northumbrian fishwives’ creel
and weaving with rushes, you can email her on lizbalfour51@gmail.com if
you’d like to find out more.”
